FACS 241 ~ architectural drafting "Fundamentals of technical drafting, lettering, line weights, terminology, symbols, and formatting of construction documents will be explored." Stair section Here we tasked with creating a detailed U shaped concrete stair case drawn at 1/2 inch scale. Public bathroom with ADA compliance Residential house project The last half of this class was focused on designing and personalizing the "Palmer" house. We had liberty to redesign the space while keeping the square footage, the windows, and the bedroom locations. To get comfortable ADA standards we were tasked with creating a bathroom floor plan at 1/8" and elevation at 1/2" scale Cover sheet~ first page of our project, the index, symbols and abbreviations are used throughout the project. The the location image is drawn free handed. Wall Section For the wall section we had to draw a section of a wall at 3/4" scale showing the various parts like gypsum wall board, batt insulation, and wood stud Free hand building section To get experience on sketching in accurate scale we drew this building section with no rulers, triangles, or scales. to the best of our ability Kitchen elevation To gain experience drawing elevations we selected different cabinets and fridges to draw with accurate proportion Doors and Windows To gain experience drawing doors in windows in accurate scale we selected real doors then drew both an interior and exterior door as well as a double hung window Perspective sketches In order to learn perspectives and drawing three dimensionally we drew basic forms on different grids. FACS 243~Digital Drafting 1 "Two-dimensional (2D) architectural drafting for interiors using digital drafting software." AutoCAD Hawthorne House The Hawthorne house was our semester long project where we took an older house and re-did the kitchen and den. Demolition plan The first step of the Hawthorne house project was to create a demolition plan. We were to extend the cabinets in the kitchen, as well as the sink, and change the appliances. We also cut the wall between the den and the dining room. Construction plan The second step was the construction plan. Here we showed the changes made from demolition and we also added furniture to fill out the look of the house. Elevation A Elevations are my favorite thing to draw to I was excited that the next step in this project was to display the elevation for the new kitchen layout. I wanted a clean simple look for the cabinets. Keeping it realistic I copied a Samsung stove as accurately as possible. Elevation B The second elevation shows the fridge view of the kitchen. The fridge, similar to the stove, is an exact replica of the LG fridge down to its height and width. I extended the elevation to include the kitchen door. I learned a lot about autoCAD through these elevations which enabled me to more easily move on to our final step. Elevation Inspiration LG fridge Samsung stove Cabinents Backsplash Details As our final step in designing the Hawthorne house we drew a wall section and cabinet details for the base and wall cabinets. Hatching Exercise To get used to shapes, hatching, layers, and colors, we made a shape and used the array tool to multiply it, then we filed it with different hatch patterns on different layers. I chose snowmen here as I thought it would be cute and also an easily closed object. SketchUp Keychain assignment We were tasked with creating a keychain that had physical texture and utilized tools in sketchup like push/pull. I chose a turtle because I wanted to do an animal. I had a lot of challenges but I'm happy with how it turned out. Sketch up model For an extra credit opportunity we transformed the hawthorne house 2D floor plan into a 3D model via SketchUp.

What is K. morgan Interiors ? Hi my name is Kunmi and I am currently a third year interior design student. My design passions include plenty of colors balanced with neutrals and unique textures. Balance is the key for me in everything I do. I hope to learn more and grow in my design throughout these four years and beyond. My Story My dad is an architect so design has always been in my life. I actually didn't originally choose interior design but after lots of research I realized it was the path I wanted to go with. I haven't graduated college yet so I'm still unsure what the future holds for my career, but I would love to work in set design for tv shows or movies. I would also absolutely love to be a luxury residential designer for elite clients. That being said I'm currently still enjoying and loving being a student.

FACS 343~Digital Drafting 2 "Three-dimensional (3D) architectural drafting for interiors using digital drafting software." Sketch Up Shed project As an introduction to sketchUp we were tasked with creating a shed or dog house of any dimension without materials. Inspiration 3D printed model 1/5 Church Project To further explore SketchUp we took a church floor plan from Autocad and pulled up the walls to make it 3D we then added our own windows and doors. We also did the furniture fixtures equipment, then finally we rendered the whole house in Lumion Blank Model The first two stages included converting an AutoCAD floor plan into a blank 3-dimensional model and placing the roof, doors, and windows Furniture fixtures and equipment We had the freedom to demolish, construct, and choose the furniture fixtures and equipment we desired from the church and also utilized sketchUp's 3d warehouse Rendered images Complete Church Tour Revit Single family suburban home We were tasked here with creating a two story multi-bedroom house in revit including a garage and backyard space. I wanted to challenge myself to build a house I felt that I could live in. So this house is a reflection of my true favorites in design Floor plans Elevations 3D views Plan sheets 1/4 Rendered images Full rendered house walkthrough Panorama

FACS 200 ~ Interior Design 1 "This course explores the spatial relationship humans have with their environment in two and three dimensional applications through applied research." Change theory; COVID 19 This model represents change in design as a result of COVID-19. This is office style called hoteling where the offices are not personal but shared and scheduled for whoever needs to use the space. I also added ventilation boxes and large windows separating the desks for additional social distancing. Gestalt theory; in action Group projects The Gestalt Laws of Continuation, Closure and Similarity were used here to depict a tree formed out of multi colored and shaped ornaments. Continuation is seen here with our eyes naturally following the flow of the ornaments, while closure makes us fill out the space in our heads even without it being there so we see a tree even though it is just the form. Progress work pvc frame pvc frame tree trunk pvc frame 1/6 Place theory; as an experience The theory used here is sense of place. We chose to do a pumpkin patch as many of us have a universal experience and connection to pumpkin patches. We also wanted to create a multi-sensory experience including taste, touch, sight and smell. I baked pumpkin cookies and had apple cider for taste, we had apple spice scent for smell, different colors for sight, and pumpkins and haybales for touch. progress work The design process Mind Map of a Coffee Shop Adjacency Matrix for the coffee shop. Facs 250~Interior Design 2 "Through real-world simulations, students will apply the design process to explore how research impacts the built environment." Housing Remodels Saffer house The Saffer house was a semester long project with the mission to take a house that had been gutted down to the studs and transform it while keeping the retaining wall and adapting to ADA requirements for the master bedroom and bathroom Project overview; presentation Mood board step by step: P.1 Schematic Development Phase Mind Map Adjacency Matrix Bubble Diagram(s) P.2 Floor Plan Preliminary Plan Refined Plan P.3 3-D Model P.4 Furniture Finishes and Equipment To choose materials I was inspired by the clients' love of travel to Greece Turkey and Netherlands and their desire for a contemporary yet homey aesthetic. The front and game room doors are hand carved, the bed is faux leather and has storage underneath the mattress; the whole house has a ton of hidden storage. The couch is faux suede making it pet friendly but still achieving the same texture and comfort. Lastly the rugs are inspired by the beautiful Turkish rugs P.5 Perspective sketches Master Bedroom Following the inspiration pictures I utilized a large arch window in the master bedroom to provide extra sunlight and a peaceful environment Girl's Bedroom Space planning was a challenge simply because of the limited floor plan so in order to fit my game room I created a loft within the girls bedroom. This also created privacy between the college age sister and the high school sister Lighting project Lighting plan To understand lighting and the wide effect lighting has this project shows the process of picking lights, space planning and creating a digital reflective ceiling plan. my role in this project was to design the reflective ceiling plan on AutoCAD. The group collectively picked the lights and the general area that they would go. I then determined their specific placement and the locations and types of all the switches. Reflective Ceiling plan

FACS 113 ~ Introduction to 2D design "An introduction to visual thinking as well as the elements and principles of design. Concentration of the elements of design through production of artwork using a variety of materials and methods. Emphasis placed on understanding the elements and principles of design and how they integrate to form fully realized works of art." Rendering assignment The assignment task us to render two floor plans; one with an analogous color scheme and the other with complementary colors. We could use any medium, I chose colored pencil. For the complementary I used tints and shades of orange and blue. For analogous I chose to use tints and shades of red orange and yellow. We were encouraged to find real patterns and furniture for the floor plans and I was very satisfied with the lamp shades, rugs, and patterns I discovered. Group project For our group project we were tasked with creating a design for the Family And Consumer Sciences department using photoshop. We all contributed different parts to the project and learned a lot about photoshop from it. To show balance and symmetry we applied roughly the same amount of objects on each side and added text parallel to each other on all four sides. We also wanted it to display elements of each major and they were all placed on a drafting table Scale This assignment shows the same fabric placed on the same arm chair but drawn in different scales. The first one is drawn in 1/2 inch scale and the second in drawn in 1/4 inch scale. Balance and Symmetry Using one of the three primary colors we were tasked with creating 3D shapes and patterns that show one or more type of balance. To show balance I placed four origami cubes equally on the foam core. Using a monochromatic I repeated this in four different tints with emphasis on the single cube in the darkest shade in the center to show value change. This utilized symmetry in its spacing; but asymmetry in the direction it’s angled at. It also can be seen as radial balance as all the cubes do surround one cube in the center. Value Using different levels of pressure graphite pencils these cubes were filled out to show value change between the sections of the cubes. What's interesting about this project is that depending on the angle it's viewed at it can look pointed or inverted. Implied line Humans are prone to fill out objects even if there aren't definitive lines. This assignment gave us the opportunities to use dashes, dots, hash marks etc. to draw a chair showing all the shadows and curves without the use of lines.

Arts 114~Introduction to 3D design "A fundamental course with an emphasis on means of construction, analysis of materials and structural examinations that support conceptual development of 3 dimensional art. Emphasis placed on characterizing the elements and principles of design and how they each integrate to form fully realized works of 3-D art. Students will develop projects using a variety of materials and methods." Line and balance For this assignment we were tasked with constructing a wire sculpture of a human figure in action using asymmetrical balance. To achieve this I found a picture of a dancer doing a pose and replicated it using a wire frame and making it 3-dimensional by wrapping wire around all the limbs and head Plane to Mass We were tasked with contrasting curvilinear and rectilinear planes while integrating texture to create a three-dimensional robot. It needed to appear to move-walking, or rolling. I wanted to make cute girl robot listening to music. I folded up different sized cubes and attached them to create different dimensions. Pattern and Balance Here we created a decorative clay tile using polymer clay. to incorporate a type of balance (symmetrical, asymmetrical, radial, or crystallographic). Inspired by my time in Arizona I chose this mountain scene. I used both symmetrical and asymmetrical balance with vines on both corners of the tile. Asymmetrical balance is used in the different sized cacti contrasting the vines and mountains Emphasis Through Contrast This project allowed us to “look back” to the first project (wire sculpture) to see the importance of combining and understanding materials in 3D design. We create a structure to be used in a 3D design, to show an “area of emphasis (dominance or focal area) by contrasting the sizes of two distinct forms. This project also has to be narrative and tell a story. I wanted to illustrate a an insecure girl looking in her reflection and seeing her future healthy confident self inspiring her to keep going. I started the project with a wire base, wrapped it in masking tape, then covered it in clay, and sculpted it into the proper dimensions and definition.
